Classification of computer

                TYPES OF COMPUTERS -

Threre are Three types of computer.

                                              1)  Analog computers
                                              2)  Digital computers
                                              3)  Hybrid computer

 ANALOG COMPUTER -

Analog computers are those computers that measure physical quantities (temperature, length etc) and convert them to numeric values. Example-Thermometer, Speedometer, watch etc.

 DIGITAL COMPUTER -

Digital computer converts the data and those all operations are done on those all operations are
done on these digits at extremely fast rates. Digits computers are basically used for machines or for individual process control in plants. Digital computer is classified into four categories.

 1)  Micro computer
 2)  Mini computer
 3)  Mainframe computers
 4)  Super computer

 MICRO COMPUTER -

The micro computer is the smallest type of computer. Inside a micro computer,
the arithmetic and control unit combined in a single chip called a processor.
It contains a microprocessor as its CPU type of store or memory (RAM or ROM).
They are single user system, having a monitor for display, a floppy &hard disk for storage.
They are generally used for business application of his patients, Charted Accountant to keep
the financial records, schools, and computer center etc.

Micro computer are as follows-
     1.  PC (personal computer)
     2.  PC/XT (personal computer extended technology)
     3.  PC/AT (personal computer advance tecnology)
     4.  PC/AT 286
     5.  PC/AT 386
     6.  PC/AT 486
     7.  Pentium 1, Pentium 2,
          Pentium 3, Pentium 4
     8.  Core 2 Due, Dual Core etc.

 MINI COMPUTER-

Mini computer are more powerful then the micro computers. They have larger ROM (memory)

and processing fast then a micro computer is used for  payroll Systems, financial accounts,
reservations or banking.

 MAINFRAME COMPUTER -

Mainframe computer are very large computers with a very high capacity of main store then a mini computers. They can be linked into a network with smaller department.
They are used by bin companies, banks, government department etc.

 SUPER COMPUTTER -

Super computer are the most powerful and expensive computer and expensive computer and
expensive computer available at a given time.
They are primarily used for processing complex scientific applications, which reqire enormous
processing power.

Super computer mostly used for-
1- Petroleum industry uses super computer to analyze volumes of seismic data, which are
gathered during oil-seeking explorations, to identify areas where there is possibility of
getting petroleum products inside the earth.

2- Aerospace industry uses super computer to simulate airflow around an aircraft at different
      speeds and altitude.
This helps in producing an effective aerodnamic design, to develop aircrafts with superior
     performance.

3- Automobile industry uses super computer to do crash simulation of the design of an
automobile, before it is released for manufacturing. This helps in producing better
automobile design, which is safer to ride.

4- Structural mechanics industry uses super computer to solve complex structure  engineering
problems which designers of various types of civil and mechanical structures nee to deal
with, to ensure safety, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

 NOTEBOOK or LAPTOP COMPUTER -

Notebook computer are mainly meant or use by people who computing need power wherever they go. A notebook computer used an almost full-size keyboard, a small flat screen liquid crystal
color display, and a trackball (instead of a mouse, because notebook a computers are often
used without a desk).
They also have a hard disk, a floppy disk drive and a CD-ROM drive. The display screen is foldable in a manner that, when not in use, it can be folded to flush the keyboard, to convert the system into notebook form.

 HYBRID COMPUTERS -

Hybrid computer are those computer which have the features of both Analog and Digital computer. They have very larger memory and fast speed. These computers are mostly used for
individual process control in plants.
